Rihanna is launching her television show Styled to Rock in the U.S. after the U.K.’s Sky Living dropped the series across the pond. The show, which features designers battling each other to create the perfect stage outfit for the “Diamonds” singer, will air on Style Network.
”Fashion has always played an integral part in my life and career,” Rihanna released in a statement. ”I am so excited to partner with Style Network and share my creative insight with these 12 designers and give them this opportunity to showcase their work.”
Sky Living dropped the show after a single season due to low ratings and production problems with guest celebrities featured on the show.
”Scheduling all these pop stars with our filming schedule was a nightmare,” a source involved with the production told Yahoo! News. ”Rihanna’s diary was manic, and to be honest, after it struggled for viewers it was always going to be difficult to get her to agree to do another series.”’
Luckily for Rihanna the show is getting picked up in the U.S. The star-studded lineup has yet to be announced for the show and it is unclear how involved Rihanna will be with the project. She only appeared on three episodes on the U.K. version.
Will the show work in the U.S.?
The show will only work if Rihanna is featured weekly on the program and a consistent lineup of celebrities can be scheduled. If Rihanna is not involved in production of the show on a consistent basis or is late for filming, which she is known for, the show will quickly bomb and be dropped once again.
