TVLine is reporting that Boy Meets World stars Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel have signed with Disney to reprise their rolls as Cory Matthews and Topanga Lawrence in the Disney Channel pilot Girl Meets World, the sequel to 1993-2000’s Boy Meets World that originally aired on ABC.
If the show is approved, Girl Meets World will pick up over a decade after Cory and Topanga’s wedding where the couple is raising their 13-year-old daughter Riley. According to TVLine, the story will focus on Riley who is a young teen that’s “full of life, super positive and very loyal to her friends.” Riley will have an older brother named Elliot and her dad Cory will play her history teacher.
Sounds a little familiar now doesn’t it!
There is currently a nationwide casting call in search of the young actress that will play Riley. Boy Meets World creator Michael Jacobs is head of the project.
