Heroin, guns, and marijuana were found on Nelly’s tour bus on Wednesday night around 8pm during a routine border-patrol checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, Texas. The exact same stop Fiona Apple, Armie Hammer, Willie Nelson and Snoop Dogg have been caught trying to sneak illegal narcotics through.
After a police dog detected the presence of drugs, officers raided the tour bus. Onboard police found 0.64 ounces of heroin distributed among 36 small bags, 10 pounds of marijuana separated into nine vacuum sealed bags and a loaded .45 caliber pistol.
Hudspeth county officials reported that a man by the name of Brian Keith Jones admitted the narcotics and handgun was his and was subsequently detained by the U.S. Border Patrol. The other six occupants onboard the bus were released from custody and allowed to travel without incident.
“You would think after a few celebrities get busted here the word would get out before you go there they might want to throw the dope out the window, but for some reason they don’t,” Hudspeth County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Rusty Flemming said last month.
Nelly commented on the incident to TMZ stating, “It is my understanding a member of my staff made an unfortunate decision to bring unlawful materials onto our tour bus that resulted in his arrest this morning.”
“Neither I nor anyone else on the tour bus was aware of his decision to bring these on board. Law enforcement officials did not press charges against anyone other than that individual,” Nelly added.
