George Strait Announces Retirement

George Strait announced today that he is retiring. “The King of Country” announced his upcoming two year The Cowboy Rides Away Tour will be his last.

“I feel like the time has come for me to quit touring,” George Strait announced in a Youtube video. “Thank you for all of your support and what all you meant to me for all these years.”

He also said that in the future he may play a few special events but other than that he is retired.

Strait is best known for his hit singles “Fool Hearted Memory”, “The Chair”, “Ocean Front Property”, “All My Exes”, “Heartland”, “Troubadour” and many, many more.

With 59 number-one hit singles to date, George Straight holds the world record for the most number-one hit singles than any other artist in the history of music on any chart or in any genre. He has sold over 68.5 million albums in the United States alone and has amassed a net worth of over $300 million.

Now he will get to spend more time on his Cotulla, Texas ranch raising cattle and competing with his son as Professional Rodeo Cowboys.
