Katy Perry is currently working on launching her own record label company.
Miss Perry, who at first was a struggling artist where at times she couldn’t make rent, wants to offer inspiring artist a better chance that she wish she got a first. Perry had been signed and dropped from label companies when she first started out until finally she got signed on with EMI Capitol Records in 2007 and has been successful ever since.
“I’m going to try and avoid the things that take away any fighting chance for an artist to have financial success. As people are coming to me with opportunities, I’m thinking how would I want to be treated?” Perry mentioned. There isn’t any official news yet as to whether the imprint will exists, but it will most likely be working along side with EMI/Capitol records. As for now this busy bee has dropped her latest music video “Wide Awake” and her 3D film concert, Katy Perry; Part Of Me 3D, which includes her sister, hits theaters July 5th.
